September 17, 24: Designing with Tie-Dye
* Two week course: $24/$32

Twist, fold, and splash your way into a colorful adventure! In this hands-on class, students will learn how primary colors blend to create secondary colors while experimenting with exciting tie-dye techniques. Using rubber bands and creative folding methods, each artist will design a custom T-shirt (size selected during registration) and a unique tie-dyed tea towel that can be displayed as art or used at home. Since tie-dye can stain, students should wear clothes and shoes that they don’t mind getting colorful. Gloves and paint shirts will be provided.

October 8, 15, 22: Wearable Art: Clay Jewelry

Get ready to squish, roll, and create! In this hands-on clay class, students in grades 4–6 will design one-of-a-kind beads and pendants using colorful clay. They’ll learn basic hand-building techniques while experimenting with rolling, shaping, stamping, carving, and adding texture to make each piece uniquely their own. After class, the artwork will dry, be bisque fired, and finished with a clear glaze for durability and shine. Finished pieces will be available for pickup approximately three weeks after the class., shape, stamp, and decorate! In this fun clay class, young artists will create their own colorful beads and unique pendants. Students will explore simple hand-building techniques as they roll clay into different shapes, add patterns with texture tools, and personalize their creations with stamps and carved designs. Pieces will be left to dry, bisque fired, and finished with a clear glaze firing. Pieces will be ready for pickup in approximately 3 weeks after the class.

November 5, 12, 19: Mixed Media Photo Transfer

Discover the magic of mixed media in this creative art class! Students will learn how to transfer printed images onto a hardboard panel and transform them into unique works of art using paint, collage papers, drawing materials, and textured layers. Inspired by animals, nature, and their own imagination, young artists will experiment with photo transfer techniques while combining color, pattern, and mixed-media elements to create a one-of-a-kind finished piece on a sturdy hardboard surface. Students are welcome to bring family/friend photos printed with an inkjet printer- photos must be a copy as they will not be usable afterward.

December 3, 10, 17 | Hand-built Clay Ornaments

Students will learn basic hand-building techniques while rolling, shaping, stamping, and carving clay into a collection of unique holiday ornaments. Using seasonal cookie cutters, lace, texture tools, and decorative stamps, each artist will design a coordinated set of ornaments full of personality and creativity. After class, the ornaments will dry, be bisque fired, and finished with a clear glaze for a beautiful, lasting finish. Completed ornament sets will be ready for pickup the week prior to holiday break.
