* Two week course: $24/$32

Stundents will explore a variety of folding, wrapping, and rubber-band resist techniques inspired by the Japanese art of Shibori while creating bold, colorful patterns. Students will design their own custom T-shirt (size selected at registration) and a unique tea towel using different dye layouts and resist methods. October 7, 14, 21 | Water-etched Pottery

Discover the art of creating functional pottery in this three-week clay class designed for teens! Students will learn how to use a slab roller to create even clay slabs and form them into unique dishes, trays, or bowls using slump molds. Once their pieces have dried to the perfect stage, they’ll design and apply their own imagery using a water etching technique to reveal beautiful raised patterns. Along the way, students will explore composition and ceramic finishing techniques. Pieces will be ready for pickup in approximately 3 weeks after the class.

November 4, 11, 18 | Image Transfer Art

In this creative class for teens, students will learn how to transfer photographs, original sketches, and printed images onto a hardboard panel to create expressive, layered artwork. Using their own drawings and photos along with magazine images, paint, collage papers, markers, and other mixed-media materials, participants will experiment with composition, texture, and storytelling while developing a unique visual style. Whether your artwork is realistic, abstract, or somewhere in between, you’ll leave with a one-of-a-kind mixed-media piece that reflects your creativity and personal vision. Students are welcome to bring family/friend photos printed with an inkjet printer- photos must be a copy as they will not be usable afterward.
