Transform an ordinary cigar box into a one-of-a-kind mixed-media piece in this two night class on October 6 & 8 from 5-7pm.
Using collage, paint, decorative and antique papers, students will personalize a wooden cigar box while learning techniques for creating durable, layered designs. Instructors will demonstrate effective methods for adhering papers and layers, discuss composition and storytelling, and offer creative inspiration to help you develop a meaningful theme.
Whether you create a memory box, jewelry holder, sewing kit, recipe box, gift box, or a place to store treasured mementos, you’ll leave with a functional piece of art that reflects your personal style. All cigar boxes and collage materials are provided, and students are encouraged to bring a few small personal papers or keepsakes if they’d like to incorporate them into their design.
No prior experience is necessary. All skill levels are welcome.
