Running Girl by Harold Linke

Artist Statement for Running Girl

VISION - Create joy with great art. When, 100 years from now, someone finds my sculpture, they think, “He saw the world as a wonderful place.” Nothing good in society, community, art, music, sports or health exists without energy and connection. Likewise, every ill can be solved with more energy or more connection.
Energy and connection inspired my sculpture. My sculpture’s wispy, swirling, transparency exists to connect us with something higher in our own spirit.I have been a commercially successful sculptor for 30 years and have placed well over 1000 sculptures in public and private collections throughout the world.

Lake Oswego, Oregon

I sculpt movement, sometimes figurative, sometimes abstract. My sculpture springs from an insatiable curiosity, a search for life’s metaphors, a deep study of anatomy, and a love of what gives us joy. Pioneering white carbon fiber and sculpting wispy figurative gestures, I’ve created one-of-a-kind sculpture.  Each new-to-the-world gesture flows from a lifetime of thought and deliberate disregard of boundaries.  A thousand of my sculptures grace public spaces, dwellings and gardens around the world.

My most recent public placements include heroic sized dancing trios at the Cornell Arts and Entertainment Complex in Joplin MO and in Silverthorne CO at their Performing Arts Center. My work is on public display and in collections in ten western cities and the Benson Sculpture Garden in Loveland.  More Information at LinkeSculpture.com.
