June 8 & 9 | Landscapes with Oil Paint
In this hands-on workshop, teens will explore the fundamentals of oil painting while creating their own finished landscape. Designed to introduce essential techniques such as color mixing, brush handling, blending, layering, and building depth with oil paint, students will block in major shapes on day one, and refine their work by adding texture, highlights, and shadows on day two. Proper use of oil paints will be discussed such as ventilation, how to use the paint, and brush cleaning.
June 15 & 16 | Coiled Baskets
Teens will explore the art of coiled basket weaving and create their own unique handmade basket. Explore traditional coiling technique, where fibers are wrapped and stitched together to form beautiful, functional shapes.Students will learn how to start a strong base, shape their basket, and incorporate color or decorative stitching.
June 22 & 23 | Clay Pendant Lights
Learn how to build your very own slab vase that you design and carve to create a pendant light lampshade. Pieces will be glazed, dry, and fired in the kiln for pick up approximately 2.5 weeks after class date.

July 6 & 7 | Wool Felted Textile Collage
Learn the process of needle felting and fabric collage in this two-day course where the instructor will guide you through the process of making your own landscape tapestry to hang or to frame.
July 13 & 14 | Wheel Throwing
Students will familiarize themselves with the pottery wheel and practice making cylinder and bowl forms. Students will apply under glaze in various techniques including sgraffito surface design. Projects will be left to dry, kiln fire, and clear glaze approximately 2.5 weeks after the class time. Each student will have their own wheel to work on the entirety of the class- Limited seats available!
July 20 & 21 | Drawing Faces with an Eraser
With charcoal, students will practice a method of drawing called, “subtractive drawing”, which involves covering paper in charcoal and using kneaded erasers to lift highlights of the face- like carving. Students will work on 9x12 papers from printed images in black and white. Students will go home with their very one charcoal stick and kneaded eraser to continue practicing!
July 27 & 28 | Abstract Paintings on Canvas with Gold Leaf!
On a 16x20" canvas, create beautiful layers of acrylic color by learning to acrylic pour, float, and use unique tools to create depth. Students will explore the process of gold leafing to create further detail. Pieces will be ready to bring home a piece and hang on the wall!
