OPEN CLAY STUDIO - Come and Create

The PLAC Clay Studio is available to the public Thursdays from 5-9pm and Saturdays 10am-4pm. The studio is open all year and is a self-led studio, you are responsible for your work and clean up of studio space. The studio only does close occasionally for classes or maintenance- this schedule is subject to change without notice. Questions? Call 712-332-7013 or email education@lakesart.org.

Supplies
Clay pricing includes firing and glazing fees:

In House clay: Chad’s Bod (Dakota Potters Supply) Stoneware Cone 08-10
$20 for ½ bag of clay (12.5lbs)
$35 for full bag of clay (25lbs)

*all sold clay is new and not reprocessed.
Low-fire glazes are currently available for use in Open Studio, Cone 06- Cone 04

Shared space for drying pots

Kiln Firings
The Workspace fires kilns regularly for both bisque and glaze. Please check the schedule posted by the kiln or email education@lakesart.org. 

The Fine Print
Studios are open to ages 13+. Only Workspace clay may be used in our studios and fired in our kilns. For the safety of you and our equipment, this is non-negotiable. Studios are cleaned out every 3 months and abandoned pottery will be disposed of.
