Let’s Paint a Landscape! With Diane O’Hern

Participants may choose a lake, pond, country road, park, or trail as their subject. We will practice flat-head brush techniques at the start of the workshop. “Step by Step” directions will be provided to set up a sky, sunset, middle ground and foreground on the canvas. Participants will then personalize their work. A 16x20 canvas, paint, and brushes will be provided although you may bring brushes and acrylic paint of your preference, Participants may also bring a reference photo, although not required.

Bio: I was born in Storm Lake, Iowa, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Art/Education from Buena Vista University. I currently reside in Eagle Grove, Iowa. After decades of teaching K-8 Art, I continue to teach children and adult art classes. I am also a substitute elementary teacher in the Eagle Grove and Humboldt, Iowa School Districts. I am an experienced visual artist with 7 summers as a PLAC Art In The Park Artist. I currently have paintings on display in the Wikert Gallery at the Pearson Lakes Art Center.
