Join Janice as she shares her artistic journey while demonstrating her step-by-step process when painting a coastal scene. Developing a painting that invites viewers to share in the sense of serenity experienced in these natural settings. Her technique involves an initial thin brushed layer, followed by spontaneous palette knife textures and spattering effects which bring the focal areas of her paintings to life. She’ll share her materials, limited color palate, and more! A question and answer session will follow.

Bio: Janice Czerwinski is a renowned artist who derives immense peace and satisfaction from nature. She found her true expressive medium in en plein air painting, which involves painting outdoors directly in the presence of her subjects. Coastal beaches became her favorite muse and the central theme of her work.  Janice's work captures not only the visual beauty of a scene but also its emotional resonance, inviting viewers to share in the sense of serenity she experiences in these natural settings. Large-scale works are created in her studio from her plein-air paintings and photo references she takes on her travels. Janice's art has been showcased in juried exhibitions across the United States, and her paintings are held in private collections both domestically and internationally. Despite growing recognition, she maintains a humble approach to her work, sharing her insights through volunteer work and community art demonstrations. Janice is an active member of esteemed organizations such as the Oil Painters of America and the American Impressionist Society, reflecting her professional status and dedication to the broader artistic dialogue.
