Heinrich began his art career as an abstractionist. Early on I was influenced by a cubist's view of the world. In recent years, my paintings have become a combination of cubist visual interventions and a more traditional approach to the visual world that interests me. I propose, for this exhibition, a collection of recent and upcoming paintings that juxtapose the flat geometric planes I find particularly in midwest landscapes but also in cityscapes and still life arrangements. I hope that viewers will see the construct underneath the literal image and perhaps wrestle with the spatial ambiguity I try to present.
