June 8 & 9 | Techniques to Paint Landscapes
Students will learn a variety of techniques including wet-on-wet painting, stippling, and learn uses for varieties of brushes as we paint a landscape of their choosing on canvas.
June 15 & 16 | Beginner Basket Weaving
This course will introduce students to the techniques of weaving as instructors guide them through the process of making a small basket.
June 22 & 23 | Clay Pendent Lights
Learn how to build your very own slab vase that you design and carve to create a pendant light lampshade. Pieces will be glazed, dry, and fired in the kiln for pick up approximately 1 1/2 weeks after the class date and students will go home with their very own plugin pendant light artwork.
July 6 & 7 | Textile Collage
Using felt and other variety of fabrics, students will learn how to cut, arrange, and adhere fabric strips to create a nature-inspired collage tapestry
July 13 & 14 | Clay Coiling
Roll coils of clay to slip and score in a variety of patterns to design and glaze a ceramic plaque. Pieces will be glazed, dry, and fired in the kiln for pick up approximately 1 1/2 weeks after the class date.
July 20 & 21 | Encaustic Painting on Recycled Records
Paint with warm wax by process of encaustic onto a unique surface- vintage vinyl records! Students will explore recycling old crayons, color mixing, and collage possibilities in this two-day course.
July 27 & 28 | Clay Lunch Plate with Laura Turner!
In this two-day workshop students will create their very own lunch plate constructed of clay! Instructor Laura will lead students through the hand building process as we use animals and other shapes for the inspiration for our lunch plate. Students will apply under glaze design and projects will be left to dry, kiln fire, and pick up within two weeks’ time. All supplies included.
August 3 & 4 | Large Abstract Paintings on Canvas
On a 16x20" canvas, create beautiful layers of acrylic color by learning to acrylic pour, float, and use unique tools to create depth. Students will add metallic detailing and bring home a piece that is ready to hang on the wall!
