Opening Reception: May 24, 5-7 PM

Local artist and Pearson Lakes Art Center Assistant Curator, Danielle Clouse, will exhibit her current paintings. Featured in her new series of larger-scale work are Northwest Iowa landscapes. Past Exhibitions:
Laura Breems
January 8 – February 9, 2008
Opening Reception: Thursday, January 10, 2008, 6:00pm-7:00pm
Laura Breems grew up in Harris, IA and graduated from Harris/Lake Park High School in 2003. She Graduated from MN West in Worthington in 2005 with a liberal arts degree, and graduated from Southwest MSU in Marshall, MN fall 07, with a BA degree in Art/Graphic Design.
Laura “really enjoys painting because of the freedom of mixing colors, adding fun textures, and just pushing the paint around the canvas.” The main subject matters of Laura’s paintings are flowers and facial features because she enjoys abstracting them, and she feels those forms lend themselves nicely to do so. She usually starts the backgrounds with acrylic and adds fun textures by applying paint in different ways. Laura then paints the subject with oil paint, because she likes the fact that it dries slower, allowing her to make changes easier. Laura’s paintings also include different additives such as stand oil, linseed oil, and cobalt dryer.
