'Discovery Tour' (30 - 45 Minutes)
Preschool tours, which focus on line, color and shapes using looking games. A visit to the Pearson Lakes Art Center's ART SMART interactive gallery is included.
Maximum group size: 30 Students
'ABC's of Art' (45 - 60 Minutes)
1st through 4th grades
A beginner tour that introduces young minds to the elements of art (color, line, shape, texture, movement) and design (balance, symmetry, pattern). This tour will explore specific works of art and relate them to how artists use the elements of art in the creative process. Students will also visit the Pearson Lakes Art Center's ART SMART interactive gallery.
Maximum group size: 30 Students
Elementary and Middle School (60 Minutes)
Grade appropriate tours of the Permanent Collections and the Pearson Lakes Art Center's ART SMART interactive gallery. Tours can be arranged for special exhibitions that accommodate specific curriculum topics.

High School and College (60 Minutes)
Guided or self guided tours of the Permanent Collections or special exhibitions can be arranged. The Pearson Lakes Art Center staff can suggest exhibitions and works of art appropriate to class needs and/or interests.

General Tour of the Lakes Art Center (60 Minutes)
Available to children and adults. An overall tour of the art center and its functions including the ART SMART interactive gallery, Pomerantz Hall, Pearson Art Gallery and the Lauridsen Performing Arts Theatre. The Pearson Lakes Art Center classrooms and studios will also be included.
Technical Theatre Tours (45 - 60 Minutes)
High School - Adult
This tour is designed for groups who have some knowledge of the theatre and want to learn more. Lights, rigging, sound and other theatre functions will be covered.
Maximum group size: 10
- Tours are conducted by volunteer docents (gallery guides).
- Tours should be scheduled at least three weeks in advance.
- Large groups will be divided into smaller sections. For school groups, one adult is required for every 10 students.
- There is no charge for gallery tours. However, donations are appreciated. A nominal fee will be charged for requested demonstrations, programs or for pre-arranged, hands-on art experiences.
- Groups wishing to visit on their own are urged to call in advance to guarantee gallery time will be available.
- The Pearson Lakes Art Center is handicap accessible.
- The museum does not have a lunchroom facility.

Call the Director of Visual Arts, Lissa Potter, at 712/332-7013. Please try to give three weeks advance notice for all tours and consider at least one alternate date for your visit. If there is a specific exhibition you would like to visit, please mention it when calling. An exhibition scheduled is available upon request.
Tour Hours
Tours are offered Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Saturday afternoon tours are available at 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM. Off-hour tours arranged upon request.
Buses and Parking
Buses can pull straight into the Pearson Lakes Art Center's Parking Lot and park where space is available. A Lakes Art Center volunteer docent will meet your group.
